IFAT 2026: Rethinking Digitalization in Groundwater Management Together

IFAT 2026 showed that interest in digitalization within groundwater management is growing significantly.

Many conversations made it clear that the industry is currently facing similar challenges — while also moving toward a shared vision for digitalization:

  • seamless processes
  • interoperable systems
  • fewer isolated solutions
  • greater efficiency through continuous data flows

We especially valued the exchange with hardware manufacturers in the fields of sensor and logger technology. Significant potential is emerging at this interface: when hardware, data, and processes truly work together, digitalization in water management becomes practical and scalable.

Our key takeaway from IFAT:
The focus is increasingly shifting toward open, integrated solutions rather than standalone tools.

We are taking away many valuable insights and new connections from Munich and look forward to future discussions and collaborations around the digital future of groundwater management.
